Hip Pain

As the second most mobile joint in our body, the hip also works closely with the sacroiliac (where the spine and pelvis meet) and the lumbar spine. Additionally, the hip works with the knee, ankle and foot. Hip pain can be reflected in any of these areas. Causes of hip pain can range from the way we sleep at night, to how we sit during the day. Hip pain can also result from walking, driving, playing sports, or working at a job that requires lifting and twisting.

Symptoms. Symptoms of hip pain can be focused on one area or felt more broadly throughout the body – from the lower back to just above the knee. There may be frequent clicking or popping associated with the hip pain as well.

How can a chiropractor help with hip pain? Chiropractors can be a valuable resource for addressing hip pain by using a combination of spinal and hip adjustments, soft tissue therapies, and exercises to restore proper alignment, improve mobility, and reduce pain. These treatments focus on the body’s natural healing ability and can help identify the root cause of the pain, offering a holistic approach to wellness.

Deciding on the course of action. After performing a thorough evaluation and examination, Dr. Staley develops a comprehensive plan to relieve the pain and identify the specific areas of the body that are affected and treat those areas as well. Left untreated, the hip can degenerate, leading to hip replacement surgery later. Rather than limp or hobble through life, please contact the Family Chiropractic Center for an evaluation and treatment.
