Sciatica

According to the American Medical Association, approximately 40% of people experience some form of sciatica during their lifetime. It is more prevalent in individuals between 30 and 50 years old, though it can occur at any age.

What is sciatica? Sciatica is not a diagnosis itself, but rather a symptom of an underlying condition that irritates or compresses the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in the body, running from the lower back down through the buttock and the back of the thigh, and into the leg and foot.
